MSET Program > LT 716 Systematic Design of Instruction
Summary
There is a growing demand for skilled instructional designers. The demand is partly the result of increased implementation of online and computer-based e-learning systems that require sophisticated course development. In this class we were tasked with putting ourselves in the shoes of an instructional designer. We discovered the five stages of instructional designing. The five essential elements form the building blocks of systematically designed instruction: learner needs and characteristics, goals and objectives, instructional activities, assessments, and formative evaluation.
