Key Themes > Leadership
Leadership, is probably my biggest takeaway from the MSET Program. I won't lie, before I started the MSET courses, I was the teacher who sat at the back of the room at staff meetings or PD sessions and just kept my mouth quiet the entire time. After taking some classes, CET 720 in particular, I have evolved into a better Ed Tech leader. I had some great takeaways from leading "The Innovator's Mindset: Empower Learning, Unleash Talent, and Lead a Culture of Creativity" by George Couros. In parts of this book he has some brilliant insight and strategies on how to unleash peoples talent. This helped me both in the classroom and on the sidelines, I thoroughly enjoyed the read. We also read a great book by Mark Gura called, "The Edtech Advocate's Guide to Leading Change in Schools." This really helped me step into a position of being a digital change agent and being able to give advice on planning and guiding change in the digital school age we are in.

Artifacts from MSET Classes
- CET 720 Innovation Project - This project encouraged me to step into the role of leadership by becoming a digital change agent and becoming an innovator. I really enjoyed the outcome of this project and I think my students enjoyed the flexibility and choice it provided them as well.
- CET 751 Presentation- This was the culminating project for the Technology Hardware and Networking class with Mr. Farrell. It allowed me a glimpse at the leadership our Technology Director possess. It showed the process our district used in selecting staff laptops, it was cool to see all the data she collected and then ultimately used to select the device for our district.
